This page is here to give you an idea of the different milestones you might like to capture along the way.
You can choose one that feels most meaningful, or document a few stages across the year — whatever feels right for you.
Newborn / Early Days
Those first days go by in a blur. Everything is tiny, soft, and new.
This stage is all about capturing your baby just as they are — sleepy, curled up, and completely perfect. The little details, the way they fit in your arms, the quiet moments you never want to forget.

Tummy Time
This is where things start to change.
Your baby is more awake, more aware, and beginning to show those first little glimpses of personality. There are smiles, curious expressions, and those determined little pushes up during tummy time.
It’s a simple stage, but such a lovely one to capture.
Sitting
One of the sweetest milestones.
Those chubby legs, wobbly balance, and big, happy smiles. Babies at this stage are full of expression and love interacting, which makes everything feel natural and relaxed.
It’s often the stage where parents really start to see their baby’s personality shine.
Crawling
Things get a little busier here.
There’s movement, curiosity, and lots of exploring. Some babies are quick and determined, others take their time — and both are just as lovely to capture.
This stage is full of little moments that show who they’re becoming.
Standing & First Steps
This is where it all starts to feel very real.
From pulling themselves up to those first wobbly steps, there’s a mix of excitement, pride, and just a little bit of uncertainty.
It’s such a special stage — right before they suddenly become little toddlers running everywhere.
First Birthday
A whole year of your baby.
This session is about capturing them as they are right now — their expressions, their quirks, and everything that makes them unique.
It’s a moment to pause and celebrate just how much has changed in such a short time.
Cake Smash
A little messy, a lot of fun.
Some babies dive straight in, others are a bit more unsure — and that’s what makes it so special. There’s no pressure, just space for them to explore, play, and react in their own way.
It’s always full of personality (and usually a bit of icing everywhere).
Paint Smash
Something a little different.
A playful, creative alternative where babies can explore colour, texture, and movement. It’s less about the “perfect” photo and more about capturing their curiosity and expressions as they interact with something new.
Bright, fun, and completely unique to them.

Props, Textures & Styling
For milestone sessions, styling is kept simple and thoughtful, so the focus stays on your baby and this stage of their development.
A few carefully chosen elements can add softness, texture, and a little bit of character, without ever feeling overdone.
During your session, I may incorporate:

Light props such as crates, stools, or baskets (where suitable)

Outfits or styling that complement your baby’s stage
For cake smash sessions:
A simple styled setup with a soft backdrop and optional decorations
Parents are asked to provide the cake
Plenty of space for your baby to explore, play, and get messy at their own pace
For paint smash sessions:
A clean, minimal setup including a canvas, easel, and baby-safe paints
A focus on colour, texture, and natural interaction as your baby explores
Everything is chosen with your baby’s comfort and safety in mind, while allowing plenty of space for movement, play, and natural expressions.
The aim is always to keep things relaxed and uncomplicated — capturing your baby just as they are.

Studio Sessions – Rosie Moments Studio
Many families choose to visit the Rosie Moments studio, where everything is ready for you.
The space is calm, warm and relaxed, with simple setups that keep the focus on your baby and their stage of development. Whether they’re sitting, crawling, or celebrating their first birthday, the studio is designed to create clean, timeless images without distraction.
In-Home Lifestyle Sessions
If you’d prefer something more personal, I can also come to you.
In-home sessions are perfect for capturing your baby in their own environment — whether that’s playing on the floor, exploring their surroundings, or simply being themselves. These sessions feel very natural and relaxed, and often reflect a little more of your everyday life as a family.
Outdoor Sessions
For older babies, outdoor sessions can be a lovely option.
These take place in a natural setting with soft light and plenty of space for little ones to move and explore. They work especially well for sitting, crawling, or early walking stages, creating relaxed and timeless images.
Whichever location you choose, the focus is always the same — creating a calm, enjoyable experience while capturing your baby just as they are in this moment.
