Behind the Scenes: A Calendar Girls Charity Photoshoot at The Woolpack Inn
Well… this definitely wasn’t an average Sunday behind the camera!
I shared a tiny glimpse of this photoshoot over on my social media at the weekend, but now I can finally share a little more from what was such a brilliant, laughter-filled day.
I recently had the pleasure of heading to The Woolpack Inn in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, where a fantastic group of people came together for their very own Calendar Girls-style charity photoshoot, all in aid of raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.
And what an afternoon it was!
Stepping Outside Their Comfort Zones for an Amazing Cause
The idea was to create a series of fun, cheeky and tastefully photographed images that could be turned into a charity calendar.
Naturally, there were a few nerves to begin with! Being photographed can feel daunting at the best of times, never mind when you're recreating a Calendar Girls-inspired shoot.
But it didn't take long for those nerves to disappear.
There were plenty of laughs, lots of encouragement, some very strategically placed props and, most importantly, an amazing group of people who were willing to step well outside their comfort zones to support such a wonderful cause.
From the bar and beer garden to the pool table and different little corners of the pub, we made the most of the location and had plenty of fun coming up with ideas along the way.
Creating the Charity Calendar
The photographs from the session will now be transformed into a charity calendar, which will be sold to help raise even more money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.
It was such a privilege to be trusted to photograph something a little different from my usual work, particularly knowing that the finished images are going towards something so worthwhile.
As a photographer, I absolutely love capturing genuine personalities, laughter and those unscripted moments in between — and this shoot certainly wasn't short of any of those!
Come Behind the Scenes With Me…
I've put together a little behind-the-scenes video from the day so you can see just a glimpse of what we got up to.
There was a lot of laughter, plenty of creativity and perhaps a little more strategic prop placement than you'll find on my average photoshoot!
I think it's safe to say we had fun.
A huge well done to everyone who took part, and thank you to The Woolpack Inn, Stonehouse for bringing everyone together and allowing me to be part of such a memorable project.
I'll be sharing more details about the finished calendar — including how you can get your hands on a copy and support the fundraiser — as soon as they're available.
