Celebrating a First Birthday

It was so lovely to meet Catherine and Matt recently as they celebrated a very special milestone — their daughter’s first birthday! 🎂

During their session, they told me something I hear from so many parents: since their little girl was born, they’d realised they had hardly any photographs of the three of them together.

Their camera rolls were full of wonderful photographs of their daughter growing and changing, but very few included Mum and Dad too. So, of course, we had to change that!

A first birthday photo shoot is about so much more than marking another year. It’s an opportunity to capture your family exactly as you are right now — the cuddles, little hands reaching for yours, cheeky smiles, laughter and all those natural moments of connection that can be so easily forgotten as the years pass.

As parents, we’re often the ones behind the camera. We take hundreds (or thousands!) of photographs of our children, documenting all those everyday moments and milestones, but it can mean we’re missing from so many of the memories ourselves.

You deserve to be in the photographs too.

One day, these images won’t just show your little one how small they once were. They’ll show them how you held them, how you looked at them and just how loved they have always been. ❤️
