Celebrating Olivia-Rose's First Birthday with a Fun-Filled Cake Smash Session

There are few milestones as exciting as a baby's first birthday. It's a year filled with incredible growth, unforgettable firsts, and so many precious memories. Being invited back to capture this special chapter is always such a privilege, and I was delighted to see sweet Olivia-Rose again for her first birthday celebration.

From the moment the session began, Olivia-Rose's personality shone through. Curious, happy, and full of smiles, she was ready to explore everything around her—including her birthday cake!

Cake smash sessions are all about letting little ones have fun, and Olivia-Rose certainly embraced the experience. She wasn't shy about digging into the cake, squishing the icing between her fingers, and making the most wonderful mess. Every handful of frosting brought a new expression, from thoughtful little looks as she worked out what to do next to the biggest giggles that had everyone smiling behind the camera.

One of my favourite things about photographing returning families is seeing just how much little ones have changed. It feels like only yesterday I was capturing those tiny newborn features, and now Olivia-Rose is full of confidence, character, and the sweetest little smile. Watching children grow and being trusted to document these milestones is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
